Hannah's Eight!

It's so hard to believe we have an eight year old!  Hannah really wanted to have a slumber party this year, but we weren't quite ready for all that goes along with that, so we agreed to a small pseudo pajama party that ended at 10 pm.    Hannah has a deep love for animals, dogs in particular, and she wanted a puppy theme so we just incorporated the two ideas together.

We had fun getting ready for our guests.  Hannah made her own goody bags from the Dollar Tree.  Each had a plush puppy, manicure kit and nail polish....

We transformed the dining room into a "make your own flip flop" craft area...

The mantle was adorned with her stuffed dogs and a simple pennant banner from Target (we reused it from Ryan's party)...

This cake was from Whole Foods.  I thought it was delicious, but Hannah didn't prefer it.  :(  She was a trooper, however, and made the most of it....

I asked her if I could wear my pajamas too and surprisingly she agreed.  Best outfit ever to host in...

Once the girls arrived, they played for a while then we had Papa John's pizza and pink lemonade in cans, a special request from the birthday girl...

I found these cute dog bowls at the Dollar Tree and filled one with pretzels and the other with Crispix puppy chow.  This was the only food I had to prepare!

Singing and blowing out her curly candles...

Showing off her flip flops - mismatched of course...

Opening gifts was so much fun...

The ice cream sundae bar was next...

And then time for some pedicure pampering.  They soaked their feet, then I messaged them with lotion and they attempted to paint each others' nails.  It was quite an ordeal figuring out who got to paint whose nails.  The results were interesting.  :)

The next day we celebrated her birthday with lunch at Mooyah, a movie with her Daddy and her special gift, McKenna the 2012 American Girl...

Happy birthday to our sweet, spirited, active Hannah Kate!   You amaze us every day with your happy, go-getter attitude.  You always try to make the right choices, are flexible and understanding, you always help us with your brothers and think of others.  Your heart is open and pure, your mind is full of ideas and your body is strong - you will be ready for the world before we know it.  Thank you for bringing us laughter, love and moments that take our breath away and make our hearts ache with pride.  Most of all thank you for being you!  We love you!
