You are my pride and joy. As I reflect back on this past year, I will remember it as a time of great growth for you - both physically and emotionally. You learned to run, jump, throw and climb. I had the priviledge of nursing you into the spring, a bond I will always treasure. You learned to self sooth, to communicate, to play and socialize. It's truly amazing when I think about how much you have developed.
I can't believe this next year you will be potty training and moving to a big bed. I'm excited to hear the funny things you will say and what you will learn and experience in this big world that awaits you.
You fill my heart with happiness, you light up a room with your smile and your sweet giggles. You are loving and gentle, friendly and active. You love to climb stairs, run free and open and close doors. You have an inquisitive mind about how things work. I love how you purse your lips together (overbite) when you are intently playing and I can see the wheels turning as you learn. You are my picky eater, only eating a lot when you are going thru a growth spurt. You love your books and movie characters - especially Baby Einstein, Barney, Elmo and Thomas. You have a new fascination with yellow school buses, looking for them whenever we are in the car. Your first sentence was "I see bus." Clubber ("Bubba") and Hannah ("Sissy") are your favorite playmates. I love watching you two chase each other, play basketball or play on the train table together. I hope in the upcoming year, there will be more of this laughter filling our home. You love your blankie ("gigi") and paci (always together) giving you comfort and helping you sleep so well this year. You rubbed one corner of your blankie so much that there is a hole. I think it's funny that your Daddy did this too when he was a toddler. I'll always remember your full conversations with us, only a few words understandable, but your expressions and voice inflections told us you thought it was the real deal. Your hair and coloring is so unique, we get comments wherever we go. And of course there is a little temper to go with that red hair, but that comes with the two year old territory.
I love you, pumpkin' pie. Looking forward to more adventures and new memories.
