Spring Break in Review

We wanted to do something fun with the kids for Hannah's first Spring Break from school and to prevent us from going stir crazy all week. So we packed up the car and headed to Fort Worth for an overnight with the Brown family. Monday morning we went to the Children's Museum - did some pretend grocery shopping, built a house, sprayed water at each other, doodled, learned about dinosaurs and watched the cutest Sesame Street show in the planetarium. The kids had a blast at the hotel swimming and playing with their American Girl dolls and generally just being together every second of the day. The Brown's are from Michigan so a quick tour of the Stockyards, Billy Bob's, and a tasty BBQ lunch was in order. We ended the trip with a sugar rush at the Candy Barrel and a nap on the way home. A fast but fun 36 hour trip.

Michael had meetings in Chicago at the end of the week so I took the kids to Waco to visit my parents. We spent a day at the Cameron Park Zoo with my Dad. Hannah loved everything about it - she was sooo happy. She hadn't been to the zoo in a few years so it was past time. Luke was content pushing his stroller around, although the larger animals peeked his interest a little. We celebrated my sweet mom's birthday at Olive Garden where an hour wait (and a glass of wine for me) didn't ruin our evening, amazingly enough. I made the call to return home that night due to the severe weather warnings. So glad I did since Allen got another 6 inches of snow the next day. Only in Texas!
