I'm back

Well, the last few months have been beyond crazy - I feel like I can barely keep up, so blogging took the back burner. I hope to be posting on a more regular basis and hope to play catch up with Halloween, Hannah's Grandma trip and other happenings around here.

Here's the latest news from the Wilkins' household:

We lost our 9 1/2 year old pet boxer, Clubber, on October the 15th. Poor guy had a tumor in his urinary track - when he started showing symptoms it was too late to treat him. The tumor had spread into his prostate and was very large per the x-rays. He was in a lot of pain so we decided to put him down. The kids did really well. That last night with him was very hard for Hannah - he was her best friend. I'll never forget Michael loading him into the back of my car and Hannah crying, reaching out screaming not to let him go. Having gone thru this with our other Boxer, Bailey, 2 years ago she knew what was coming. But since the loss she's done great! She talks about him without tears. And fortunately has not asked for another pet. LOL!

Michael had his 4th ACL reconstruction surgery this week. He's doing well except for the pain of having it locked at night. He's not able to drive for 5-10 days and starts PT next week. Of course he's being as helpful as possible - even put the kids in the shower last night and helping with food prep whenever he can. We were so fortunate to have Bill and Charline come to transport the kids to and from school on surgery day so I could be with him. Not sure how we would have handled all the logistics without them being here to get us thru this hump the last few days. Things should be looking up this week as the kids and I fall back into our normal routines.

Here's Michael in his CPM (continuous process movement) machine cuddling with Luke. Not a bad gig.

Amidst the bad news, we will have more positive news to share in the coming weeks ...stay tuned!

Janessa! So sorry to hear about Clubber, I dread the day we have to say goodbye to Chief. I hope Michael heals fast and gets back up on his feet soon. Take care.
