Meet Sierra!

The weekend prior to Spring Break, I traveled to Tulsa with Hannah and Michael's mom to celebrate her niece's adoption of a beautiful 17 year old, Sierra.  We learned of the adoption about a month prior and we were all fascinated with her story and so excited to meet the newest family member.   Adoption sits close to my heart as my parents were both adopted and later found their biological families.  Sierra was in and out of foster care since the age of 5 and most recently was in a group home, were she was hopeful to be adopted before her 18th birthday.  Michael's cousin, Susannah, and her husband welcomed Sierra into their family exactly ONE day before her 18th birthday - the day she would no longer have been a ward of the state and able to receive medical and college education benefits.  Sierra has one more year of high school and is enjoying her new school and family.  She is a happy, outgoing, pretty girl who loves children, singing and her friends.   Hannah adores her!  What a special weekend!
