Painting canvases with Yoda. The concentration and focus was amazing!
After the party we headed home to open presents and hang out with Gramps, Uncle Neal and Aunt Julianna. We have such a loving, supportive family! We appreciate them so very much!
On Hannah's birthday we had breakfast at Mimi's (yum!) and I took her to Sweet and Sassy to get her ears pierced. Picture coming soon. She was so brave - there was absolutely no hesitation driving there or waiting in the chair. She didn't even flinch when they did it. I had my ears pierced when I was 6 and wanted to do the same for her. Michael gave her tickets to see the FC Dallas soccer team play, we gave her the American Girl doll bed she wanted and a set of water guns from Luke. We ended the day with a playdate at our house. So fun!
One of my favorite candid pictures of the Davis side (but missing mom here).
What we don't want to forget about this year:
1. Your love of everyone and everything. You are so outgoing, courageous and social - it sure didn't come from me or your Dad!
2. Kindergarten was a success - you learned to read, write and express your creative side. You made friends, memorized your codes/phone numbers (the important stuff), you got your color changed to yellow multiple times for speaking out of turn/talking. But in the end you learned the rules and what it means to be responsible. You started the AIM program and we hope you continue to be challenged and love school.
3. You love going to church and Sunday School. You have an amazingly strong faith for your age and you say the sweetest, most sincere prayers. You participated in our church's Children's Choir for the first time this year. We are considering piano lessons for you in the next year or two - maybe your Gramps' musical genes? You played soccer on the Angels team and started on the ASI gymnastics team a few weeks ago. Just some outlets for your energy and to help you learn to focus. Sports teach so much!
4. You are finally bonding with your little brother this summer. You are very helpful with him, love to kiss and love on him, you like to play chase, wrestle and be silly. You are such a wonderful big sister!
5. You have such a sweet spirit and giving heart - always looking for opportunities to help others and do the right thing.
7. You are soooo incredibly strong willed - always negotiating and trying everything to get your voice heard.
8. You are such a morning person, waking up early and happy every day. Another characteristic from your father. :) You've recently decided that you must sleep in your bed the opposite way. Not sure why but we are going on month 4 now so I may just have to turn your bed around. It's hilarious!
9. You love to swim, listen to classical music, make crafts, bake, play with Clubber, play Barbies, Polly Pockets, American Girl dolls (Rebecca), and play with friends and neighbors. You like the monkey bars at the park, could care less about riding your bike unless Emily and Arshad are out riding. You love a story read to you, have yet to love to read to us...but hopefully you will soon! You like Junie B Jones, Fancy Nancy, Princesses, Scoobie Doo, etc. You enjoy going on nature walks, trips to the library and dinners out (and you always seem to order cheeseburgers).
10. You are amazing! Your Daddy and I are so very proud of who you have become. May year 6 be your best ye. Love you so, so much!
