Ryan is getting stronger and more attentive and curious about this surroundings. He tries to grab at objects and likes to reach at my watch, my rings and his little toy frog. He loves to sit up on my lap and watch all going on around him, especially his siblings. He has discovered the outdoors and now that the temperatures are cooler we can comfortably get out and enjoy the park and soccer events. He likes his tummy time and has rolled over a few more times. Unfortunately, he's still taking short 40 minute naps which make it very hard to get much done during the day. We have dropped the 5th nap and moved his bedtime up so hopefully soon we will go down to 3 longer naps. I know he's waking up from his first sleep cycle and he can't put himself back to sleep. It doesn't matter if he's in his crib or in my arms, swaddled or unswaddled...he ALWAYS wakes up. We are trying a few sleep training tactics during the day and hope that will help. I'm excited that he's finally fallen into a natural eating/sleeping routine. Seems like it took forever to get to this point, but I'm glad to have some predictability...at least until the next big change. He's still sleeping well at night for his age, going down between 8:00 and 9:00 pm and waking at 3:00 or 4:00 am and then again at 7:00 or 8:00 am. He still isn't a fan of the swing and he still refuses the pacifier often. I changed to the NUK paci and he's taking it better. He is always trying to suck his hands and I'm afraid he will become a finger sucker so we are going to push through with the paci for now. Overall Ryan is a very easy going baby who loves to eat, observe, smile at his family - he's calm natured and so sweet and cuddly. He's my squishy ball of love.
Next milestone post will be at 6 months. Excited to see what he's learned and how he's changed. Love this little boy so much!
