*Disclaimer....this is supposed to be funny. A comedian I am not, but here I try.
You know you're a Mom when:
1. you look forward to sitting down to nurse so you can play on your smart phone
2. you look forward to reading to your kids at bed/nap time so you can lay down for a few minutes
3. you are driving alone (a rarity) and you get halfway to your destination before you realize you were listening to your kids' VBS CD
4. you tend to dress your baby/toddler daughter and yourself alike without meaning to do so. When she's older you dress her the way you would like to dress yourself
5. you look forward to starting a load of laundry because even if you don't get it all folded and put away at least you did something productive that morning
4. your attempts at being organized just lead to more stuff and more chaos. Take me for example, I like to have all my paperwork/stuff in the kitchen area because that is our command center. I have gone from a stack of papers to a clipboard and then I added an old planner full of coupons and then I added a folder for each child. It's just not helping things.
5. you are constantly picking up as you go about your day and it just keeps piling up behind you
6. you are sitting in the back of the car to soothe the screaming baby - you have one hand holding the pacifier and the other hand holding your preschooler's hand
7. you take pictures of everything because you know you aren't going to remember squat in a few years. you are disappointed when your attempts to capture what you saw failed miserably
8. you are emotionally attached to the clothing you bought for your kids even when they are 7 years old
9. you wish everything was paperless/electronic and you are annoyed when it's not
10. you recycle more than you throw away
11. you get a high from finding a deal on something cute, even if it's not a great deal or very cute
12. you feel guilty if you buy something without a coupon, especially when you know you left one at home
13. you are almost always late because getting everyone and all their stuff out the door and buckled in takes longer than you plan. always. and of course you have to change a poopy diaper or someone has to go potty
14. you crave peace and quiet - you would do just about anything for a quiet house
15. you sleep better with white noise
16. you dread mealtimes because you know someone is going to complain about what you cook (or heat up in the microwave)
17. you try to figure out how to make your living room look better even with all the baby gear taking over - it's just hopeless
18. you have no idea what is going on in the world around you because you can't watch the news with the kids around and you choose to watch mindless TV when you do get the chance
19. you never leave the house without snacks, a sippy cup, wet ones, bandaids/Neosporin, or your smart phone
20. you don't know how you would survive without your DVR
21. Facebook and blogs are your main source of entertainment because stalking really is so much fun
22. your back and neck are killing you from lugging that baby carrier/baby around all day
23. poo and pee and all that comes with it that are just part of your daily routine until age 4
24. it's a going to be a good day if you had time to blow dry your hair
25. you have become quite skilled at tuning out the fighting coming from the playroom, the opera singing, and the fussiness coming from the bouncy seat
26. your preschooler tells you to stop that whining and that you didn't make a good choice today
