2-14-2012

I admit, I like Valentine's Day (seems like most people don't anymore). Yes, it's annoying we have to go out and buy more stuff - but at least it's chocolate and fun little surprises. Plus I like the excuse for a date night even if it's not exactly on Feb. 14th. The school parties are super cute and I enjoy helping the kids put together Valentines for their buddies, however, I am not one to make the cutesy, handmade Valentines (don't you cringe when you get those?...deep down we all wish we were that Mom). I think it's sweet to see what Michael comes up with - although it varies year to year, big time. :) This year, we agreed we weren't exchanging gifts and then two days before he tells me "that is not exactly true". Ugh! So I scramble to come up with something - thank goodness for Starbucks gift cards! He gave me a heart monitor watch that I've had my eye on for several years. Romantic? No. Practical? Yes! It's given me great satisfaction watching the calorie counter climb when I work out. Michael knows that I love a sweet card and he scores big points if he puts some thought into it. Cracked me up that right before he gave me my gift he said, "I didn't get you a card, but I want you to know that my heart beats for you and this is a gift for your heart from my heart." That was good enough for me. :)

Celebrating with our sweeties...

Heart over the head (instead of bunny ears?)

Modeling her new sparkle purse from Grandma

Sweetness - superhero card for big boy. Ryan must have been asleep since he wasn't in these pictures. He even got some goodies - a red sock monkey and a book.

Here are some snapshots of Luke's party at GEM...

With Mrs. Greenwalt and friends. Today Luke told me one friend spit on him 4 times and had to stay inside for recess. Lovely.

Playing pin the heart on the frog

Mom left me here while she was chatting with the other Moms.

They got to look thru their bag of goodies. Such a change from his old school where they couldn't give candy of any kind. :(

We had some family night fun at our house this month. We wore our pjs and made chocolate chip pancakes with cake balls for dessert. Entertainment included craft time and wrestle mania.....

They are a mess. Again, bunny ears. Must be a 2nd grade thing?

Jenna loves her little Ryan.

These were pretty darn tasty. Michael did most of the work. I just baked the cakes and help coat them.

Love bugs made by our love bugs.

Always ends in rough housing.
