2nd Grade Fun - Spring 2012

It's Hannah's turn for a post. All I can say is it is a good thing this girl has boundless energy. She is juggling a lot for a 7-year old, and 98% of the time she does it without complaining. Very soon when homework increases and her enthusiasm dies down, she will have to choose her focus, but for now she's handling it like a champ. 2nd grade has been a growing up year, in good ways and in bad ways. On the good side she's become more responsible, she's learned to be appreciative and not ask for more, and she's excelled in school. But this year she learned her first bad word from a classmate, is facing fears such as intruders in the home, fire/natural disasters; she has discovered her moral conscience, notices differences in people and questions our faith and others' behavior. I'm sure this is just the tip of the iceberg with what is to come. We are so proud of this big second grader especially her caring heart, creative mind and sense of adventure.

Who says school isn't fun?...

Social Studies project to create a timeline. This one was really fun!

At Open House - standing under her artwork on display

She gave an oral report on Helen Keller. Here she is in costume, so excited for her big presentation.

UIL competition at AHS - competed in Creative Writing and Story Telling

Grandma and Grandpa drove up for the 2nd grade performance.

Loved to see all the kiddos in their homemade costumes. Sweet girls!

Post performance with her beautiful teacher, Mrs. Graham.

Sports are big part of her extracurricular activities....

With Coach Amanda after "Weekend with the Girls" meet - best meet of season so far, averaging 9.0+ on all 4 events.

Looking like an athlete here

Little Lefty warming up

Time with friends...

With BFF Morgan at Allen Americans Hockey game

At Morgan's 8th Build-A-Bear party. Hannah cracks me up - she got a dog when other friends got teddy bears. She loves, loves, loves dogs.

Lots of important family time....

After a visit to the library where we met an Allen police officer, the kids had fun playing with their disguises and working in their safety activity books.

Momma likes Mexican food on the weekends so we brave the restaurant scene

Mommy/Daughter day at the American Girl sweet shoppe. Look at those yummy massive sundaes!

Life size McKenna cutout and Hannah - similar?

Still loves to play at the park

Never gets old seeing her share a story with her brother.
