So we did it, we finally took the plunge and joined Lifetime Fitness. Oh my...are we paying a lot of $$$, so the intention is to try it out for the summer. We are hoping to get in better shape for our Hawaii trip in September.
Yesterday I took Hannah to the pool and felt like I was on a mini vacation. The set up was such that she could be in the water and touch down and there was plenty of space for her to play. She busied herself swimming alongside the perimeter of the pool with her buddy from gymnastics class. I've been super impressed with the staff and the lifeguards - they are so friendly and helpful. Love, love, love the snack bar and how they bring your food out to you. Did I mention it's like a vacation (but without the alcohol)?
Today I packed up my gym bag and Luke and we hit the gym. Luke ran right into the child care center. He kept telling me he wanted to go play and slide. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical, 5 free weight machines, showered and got ready in less than 1.5 hours. Luke didn't seem to miss me and didn't get excited to leave like he would at our old gym. The only downfall of my morning was tweaking my bad knee when standing up from the ab mat (of all things). My right knee has a torn PCL, MCL, LCL and meniscus and I am now reminded of that fact again. Must take it easy on the knees going forward. This gym reminds me a lot of the Aggie Rec Center. Everyone is excited and energetic and although I feel everyone is watching everyone else, it's motivating. We'll see if it lasts!
